Few things can impact a life so much as going into another culture...living and working there, touching other lives and being touched by them.
Few things can impact a church so much as having its pastor, or a group of members, go on a short term mission trip.
Few things can encourage a lonely or burned out missionary so much as having people from 'back home' visit and show interest in what's happening on the field.
Few things can infuse enthusiasm and excitement into a village so much as having a visitor from the U.S. or somewhere else go to the trouble of coming and, by their mere presence, saying: "you are special and important!"
And that doesn't even take into account the real work and tangible accomplishments which can be achieved by work teams on short term mission trips!
